the farm

land & gardens

Spanning over 200 acres, The Folly Farm is a rare mix of forest, meadow, garden, and shoreline. Formal landscaping surrounds the historic home, while native grasses, wetlands, and wooded trails offer peaceful pockets of nature to explore. The land is protected under a Conservation Easement, with water on three sides and sweeping views across Folly Creek.

The gardens shift with the seasons—a mix of wild and cultivated—where pollinators thrive and heritage plants tell the story of the land. Every path leads to something worth slowing down for.

regenerative farming

We’re in the early stages of restoring Folly Farm as a working, regenerative landscape—one that gives back more than it takes. Our goal is to rebuild healthy soil, support biodiversity, and create a resilient ecosystem that reflects the natural rhythms of the Eastern Shore.

In time, we plan to introduce animals as part of our regenerative approach—including chickens and cows for soil health and rotational grazing, and horses for both companionship and connection. These animals will play a vital role in restoring the land, managing growth, and deepening our relationship with the farm itself.

This is a long-term project, shaped by care, curiosity, and collaboration with local farmers and conservation partners. We're learning as we go, and building slowly—one season, and one pasture, at a time.

experiences

At Folly Farm, we’re in the early stages of creating a space where people can slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the rhythm of the land. While much is still taking shape, we’re beginning to explore seasonal offerings that reflect the beauty and pace of life on the Eastern Shore. In time, you might:

  • Stroll through the gardens with coffee in hand
  • Learn the basics of regenerative agriculture
  • Join a private wine tasting on the lawn
  • Take a boat ride through the creeks and barrier island
  • Share a long table meal with friends
  • Or simply watch the light shift over the water

We plan to host a small number of retreats, workshops, lunches, and private events each year — always grounded in the land and designed to feel intimate, personal, and place-based.
