The Folly Farm is a private property and tours are available by appointment only.
The Folly Farm is a historic waterfront estate set on over 200 acres of forest, farmland and formal landscaping. Located in Accomack County, the property sits on the eastern border of Virginia's Eastern Shore and the last deep water of Folly Creek. We offer direct access to 70 miles of undeveloped barrier islands, perfect for fishing, kayaking, boating and swimming. The creek and wetlands are also an important birding hotspot along the Atlantic Flyway.
Built in 1749, The Folly Farm and its historic outbuildings hold a special piece of our nation's history. Located over a mile off of Drummondtown Road, our estate is a truly special place to visit, and the perfect place to enjoy the serenity and seclusion of the natural landscape.
We are only a short drive to shopping, museums, restaurants and other leisure activities, in addition to nature preserves well-suited for exploration. To the west, we are less than seven miles from the waterfront town of Onancock, named "the Gem of the Eastern Shore," and less than an hour's drive from the seaside town of Chincoteague to the north, and the historic railroad town of Cape Charles to the south.
Whilst the estate grounds are currently undergoing renovation, we are
now accepting wedding & event bookings for Spring 2024.
